Not really a woodie, those are roller lines from a dirty conveyer belt. Too symmetrical and even, one side only. Haven't seen too many woodies after the mid-50's...must have something to do with the processing/mixing of alloys. A woodie is thought to be the addition of too much zinc, such as in brass that didn't mix thoroughly. They in early days would throw in chunks of brass when making the mix, before it was rolled for planchet stock, not completely melted/mixed.

Worth keeping as a good example of the roller lines. After you've seen one you will always remember them.

Looks like a Woody to me. Not roller lines, but Improper Alloy Mix on this one.

The dime has narrower stripes and is suspected roller lines.
