Got a few very nice lots from the most recent Triskeles auction, most of which are being sold off as soon as I get pictures and ID's worked out.

This one is only my second gold ancient, and my only fine gold coin, not including tiny Indian fanams. It came unidentified, but tentative ID for now is John III, 1222-1254.

Sadly, it looks like somebody wanted to make a necklace from this one. It wasn't enough to just punch a hole; they had to flatten it. In so doing, it snapped and they soldered it back together

Still has nice detail, and gold is gold.

I'll be letting this one go cheap, but it's nice to own a real gold ancient, even briefly!

Beautiful coin. I really love it how it was transformed into a precious object for its ancient owner :)

Even with the holes and it being flatten as a Byzantine collector I would still want this coin.
Rest in Peace

Not an easy coin to find. You might end up holding onto it longer than you think.

Of course on the bright side, it now fits rather nicely in a 2x2.

Very nice pick-up!
