Just as the title says, I took my son to his first auction, the 33rd Hwadong Auction here in Seoul, Korea.

Had and amazing time, he made his first bid ever, and got some great stuff.

She was a teeeensy bit mad but Oliver's excitement over the auction helped a bunch. :) And it was money I had saved up on my own so she took it well.

That's what it's all about. Having good(great) time with your son -- something that money can't buy..

I have a big smile stuck on my face. Just getting around for the day, this video has me right on track to have a great one. That was so cool. Thank you.
I have no idea what those coins and paper money were or what they are worth but they were priceless with your son and his enthusiasm. I always enjoy your posts. Your videos are humorous and fun to watch.

Oliver won a silver 2010 (His birth year) UNESCO Commemorative Korea for the Chongmyo Shrine here in Korea. He picked it out of the listings himself. Thank the gods it was a cheaper one! :)

Thanks a million! That means a lot to us. The first coin I picked up was a seed cash coin from the Joseon Dynasty. These cash coins were the coins they made other coins from in the mold. The coin that Ollie won I explained above, but it was a silver commemorative for a shrine here in Korea. The bill that we won together was a 1946 Bank of Joseon 100 won Specimen bill and was something I really, really wanted.

They are all worth about what we paid for them. The specimen bill we won could go for another $50-$100 maybe in the states if someone was really looking to get it. But, you are right about the time with him; its priceless. I am excited to make the video in March to share with you guys!
