OK, here I go again! However, I feel much more confident this time. Have I said that before? OK< story is, local flea market again today. 7 Rolls of 1971-D this time. This time the guy saw me coming and charged me $3.00 each. So I paid $20.00 for all 350 coins. First roll is done, Obverse side only for now. 10 out of 50 with this crack. I did look at the back of a few and saw a strange thing, see bottom two pictures. Saw it on at least 10 of those too. I see none of these errors online. Any advise would help. One thing I know, is this guy is not micro scoping these coins. And, he tried to sell me a roll of 1955's today too for $135.00.

It is a nice die crack on a cent. Might be called a spike head,I'm not into these so I am not sure.Might not see these on line because there is little interest in them. Only major die cracks hold a bit of interest. Also, your white balance might be off a little.Try using a gray background.

Yes, the obverse is a "Spiked Head" die crack. There's not really much, if any, premium value. They're still cool to look at, though.

On reverse, you talking about the Memorial roof being funky looking? Looks warped on right half of roof. Aggressive die polishing on right vertical and along seam/edge. This is quite normal for this period, the "floating roof" variety, both uptakes need be completely polished off to qualify, find on 68-72's with the most on 69&70D's.

May I make a suggestion. That date isn't a big vale any error, I never would have paid that for those. I just sold recently 19 friggin rolls 1963P's and was graciously offered more than my asking price of less than $14 shipped, had listed on CCF and ebay for 5 months. So $30 for those, no wonder he was offering a $28 roll of 55's for that much to you...live and learn! Check "estate auction" for a chance at some possible. Also, know your dates/mintmarks, if you have phone do a quick ckeck of http://www.coppercoins.com for a specific date and why may be in it value wise, some like the 1963P have very few(3, 2-DDR, 1-DDO)and quite minor in value too.
