I am working on a type set of Canadian currency and am trying to find a nice album to store these. Currently I have two Unimaster brown albums but I don't really like them. Although they claim these fit Canadian modern currency, it is obvious that they were designed for American bills, since a bit of the top of each bill sticks out. My type set is exclusive of signatures so I only have one note from each series. I would like an album that would securely store the old style large bills, the middle sized bills and the modern stuff. I don't want a three-ring binder with floppy pages but want something classy looking. I don't have a problem paying for something good. Any suggestions?
Just to add, I want something like my Davo Stamp Album, which cost a fortune but looks beautiful. Edited by TomSwift 10/24/2017 01:05 am

Did you try Lighthouse? They have some nice leatherette bound albums with sheets that can hold currency up to 8" x 3 1/4".

I saw those and they look nice. The inside sheets are still floppy plastic though. Is there something out there that is more rigid?

I use Lindner albums for my graded notes, the Exclusive Binder with slipcase, a very nice 18-ring binder. They run $116 on the net, expensive, but not too bad, the leather album is a great deal more expensive. The pages are 2-pocket mylar with black interleaving, very nice appearance and sets off the note very well. Very good gauge on the mylar, the pages turn easily and remain flat, with no bending of the note. I used these for some years for raw notes, and had no problems with them at all. If you think the pages are too 'floppy', just use a mylar sleeve for the note, then insert into the page pocket, but I never felt the need to do that with my collection. The albums hold about 50 pages with interleaving. You can get 10 pages for 20 dollars, so a full album is going to cost you about $225 for album, slipcase, pages, interleaving, page lifters and end papers, and shipping. You can also get pages with three pockets, these fit Canadian currency and will give 50% more capacity to your album for the same price. Palo Albums and Subway Stamp Shop are two big suppliers of Lindner products. Take a look at ebay, too, but it's overpriced there.

Thanks. That sounds like what I am looking for. I find that lots of companies won't ship overseas so ebay is my best choice but I will check out their sites.

I'd be surprised if either of the firms mentioned would not ship to Macau, Registered Post is pretty reliable and you pre-pay for your purchase.
Are there stamp shops in Hong Kong or Macau? I would think someone there carries Lindner.
Do get the black interleaving pages, instead of the standard cream color. It really sets off the banknotes or any items in the pockets, and makes the currency the focus, not the page.

I find if they are located in Europe, companies have no problem shipping overseas but US companies really don't like to do so or charge crazy prices. Now that I have a specific item to look for, I will hunt around to find the best price. Sometimes it is ebay (I got my Davo Canadian albums from there) or sometimes from the company. I will have to sit and figure out exactly what I want. My goal is one of every Canadian currency. Pretty impossible but mostly doable if I don't worry about condition. I will look for the black pages. Thanks.

Never found one in Macau but there is a coin and stamp floor in Hong Kong in Kowloon. I was only there once and everything was closed but it was too early. I have been to the one in Shanghai and it is impressive. Two stories filled with tons of small dealers. Gold coins on tables everywhere. Very loose and it seems unorganized but there is an interesting internal organization to these kinds of places.

Lindner will ship direct from Germany. Take a look around and see if you like it. I used their stamp albums as the currency albums didn't look good enough for me, the pages interchange throughout the entire line.
