1901 S Morgan Dollar - Is It An Error Or Something Else?

Emilyd928 New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 10/25/2017 01:26 am Hi everyone! I recently inherited this 1901 S Morgan dollar. I do not have much experience or knowledge of Morgan dollars so I'm at a loss with this one. There is a large capital D printed on the front of this coin. Any idea as to what it could be from? They only have added value if the counterstamp can be traced to the source. In this case, it's anyone's guess what it means.
