Both have a good bit of detail but also have some environmental damage, obviously the 1825 having some deep corrosion areas and the 1817 might have been cleaned. Not junk Large cents but the issues hurt the value. Check out this link to US Coin Facts on your Matron Head Large Cents.

I would value the 1825 at VG-F price levels, maybe the 1817 ( 13 stars ) at F-VF at best, even though they have much higher details. Just my opinion.

It's a shame for those spots on the 1825. That really knocks it down ... a lot.

The 1817 is N-6 an R-1 variety(very common), but it is interesting in one way. The AME on the reverse are supposed to be touching and on yours they are not. I suspect a late die stage where the reverse has been polished to the extent that the letters have separated.

1825 is N-7 an R-3 coin (slightly uncommon)

Looks like the '17 was cleaned at some point and is now toning back.
