I would say yes. That photo is awfully washed out, but the cheek looks very nice. Only a part of the grade, but a good start.

Really difficult to tell, as said photos are washed out so we cannot see real luster. Strike on this year is hit and miss some have really nice hair and breast feathers, or the hair is flat and eagle is flat. It is a coin flip essentially.

Nice cheek but it looks dipped and rubbed in the high points to me. AU details cleaned.

Dipped, probably. But can't really get a handle on possible wear from these pics - too bright.

I am going to backtrack slightly and open the door for the possibility that the coin may have been struck with a worn late state die giving it a frosted appearance, but can't be sure from pictures. The hazy look of the surfaces and the small shallow scratches don't help it much.

Looking at the coin in hand, this is what I was thinking about it as well. MS63 weak strike from a late state die.

The Baltimore show is coming up in a couple of weeks, and I'm not that far from B'more. I may stop by and drop this one off for grading.
