 Curious if anyone knows whats going on around the ear with the die clash ( looks a bit like the mini reverse of a 3CN) I've been trying to figure it out.

It is the shield lines of the eagle's shield from the clash I think. But wouldn't the lines below the ear be in the opposite direction? Someone needs to make a transparent overlay to see. Pretty tone!

Yes, that's right. It's the stripes from the shield on the rev. Having three stripes under the ear, kind of like fancy big earrings, is common for 1813-4.

Very interesting and thanks for the replies. Here I thought it was a special, but its common clash I see.
