We've done research on this coin and can not find anything on it, any ideas?

It will be an 1863 (Not 1868)Civil war token. They were made as "good for" tokens since coins were being hoarded during the war Looks like a Campbell Grocery is the issuer but too blurry to see from where. if you know state, try here:

ebay has a sold record of a this token in nicer condition. It is from Cincinnati Ohio.just search J Campbell token in sold listings. Yours is in very rough condition, I would guess $15-$20 value.
