Hey all,
Been looking around the Web for an answer...

Does anyone know where the U.S. Mint purchases / obtains its coinage metals from? Are there any particular companies which work specifically in that area?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Not sure about the other denominations, but the Lincoln Cent planchets are outsourced and come from Jarden Zinc in Greenville, TN.

are you planning on stamping out your own or something? LOL if so stay away from 1 cent and 5 cent coins (like that would be the target anyway) because they cost more to make than they are worth. I had to ask because I saw "Breaking Vegas" on Biography Channel last night and a guy made dies and stuff for a 10 dollar casino chip with a edm and a press
