My uncle had identified a die break on the reverse of the coin pointing from the bottom of the reverse at a angle similar to what I believe is a PSD scratch on the coin.

Then as I noticed on the top of the reverse, UNITED STATES oF, has what looks like grease in the die as a minimum and likely another VLDS by the thickness of the tops of the characters near the rim.
Thoughts?

Also, I'm surprised my uncle would identify a recesses area as a die break since they are always a raised area.
Rest in Peace

Gee, looks similar to this:

This is a linear plating bubble, notice the dimple the arrow is pointing to? That's where I pushed it in with my mechanical pencil

BTW, that isn't called a "die break" but a "die crack", two different animals and does gto over the devices.

It looks more like a damage, cut/scratch by a Razor sharp object, it has cut deep that has exposed the Zinc on the E.
Struck Through Grease on ES and OF.

I agree on the OPs coin that it is damage. You can see the gray zinc showing through the plating that has been opened. The reason it appears raised is that the metal moved outwards when the coin was cut with a knife. When you look into the trench, you should see the flat bottom of where the tip moved the rest of the metal.
