Need Help Iding This Kushan(?) Coin

Archraz Pillar of the Community United States 3499 Posts	Posted 11/13/2017 8:19 pm Hi everyone, I just picked up this very interesting ancient South Asian coin, which looks much like some earlier kushan pieces I have encountered. However, this coin is only 22mm in diameter and was probably minted much later. Any help with the general identification of the time span when it was minted would be appreciated! I've seen later Kushan coins of this size listed as tets - and I have a Soter Megas tet of about the same size. However, I've also seen them listed as "AE22" and such. It does look like the dies were meant for a slightly larger (tet) flan. Ron, what do you think? Is this a tet struck on a slightly small flan? Report this Post to the Staff
