1987 D Lincoln Cent - Extra Column?

Very cool 1987 D Lincoln Memorial cent I found today searching rolls. Looks like the start to a new column and some remnants of columns as well. There even appears to be a 6 or an S on the obverse rim. What do you folks think?

Where are you seeing an extra column?
The 6 or S looks like PMD to me.

with John1. Are you referring to the 5th bay in the first pic and second bay in the second pic?

There are 4 bays that have an extra column that is part of the design:
1987-D-Lincoln-Cent---Extra-Column?
These are there to make the other columns behind that one look more 3-D like. But they are on all the fresh dies and get altered/removed with die polishing.
