1965 Roosevelt Dime - Error? - Coin Community Forum

CoinHobby New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 11/15/2017 1:06 pm I have had this in my collection for a long time. I have never seen an "error" like this. Is this possibly a real minting error or just a manufactured fake? Any help is appreciated. Report this Post to the Staff

Dave42 Pillar of the Community United States 571 Posts	Posted 11/16/2017 12:09 pm Not much time involved in that at all. Where I work, we have a pneumatic punch we use to punch holes in stainless steel sheet. Just for kicks, I tried a dime in it. Punched right through. Then all you have to do is take the two pieces and stick em back together. You might need a little force to do it, but it can be done fairly quickly. It looked very similar to the one pictured. Works well on cents as well, but I didn't want to try a nickel and screw up the punch due to the extra thickness involved.... Report this Post to the Staff
