You do know that Brass is just one notch above Bronze on the metal alloy scale don't you? If there was a tinge of tin/zinc more (like a .02%)in the copper/tin, manganese/zinc mix of the 5% coating weight it would be yellowish in color. The Brass some refer to is a type/test coin, all brass, not a Zincoln composition. Very rare!

If your pic color is true then I would say it is not a brass plate. A brass plate is more yello in color then your coin. John1

thanks john1, kens site help ,to me this is like I think brass ,this coin was in circulation , maybe why it don't look yellow ish .but the pic he had side by side like I tried , that's how it looks.if you had a pile with 2000 pennys this whould stick right out.

look at the pic 6 with the a and m the bottom of the a , the left bottom of m ,pic 9 the n middle to bottom has like a holiday .the last pic f g (f c ,f d)the bottom of the f.and the top of the t ?

Here's one for comparison. They are yellowish with a slight tinge of green.
