This came in today. Nothing spectacular but, I liked the price even though the seller's pics were pretty bad. It's now my oldest U.S. coin!

There was no evidence of anything unusual in the description/pics but I discovered the rotation real quick! Other than the wear, there are a lot of small dings and marks.

Questions:

Grade & details/straight?
Potential premium value for rotation?

Color may be slightly off here:

1816-Coronet-Large-Cent-W/-Rotated-Die
1816-Coronet-Large-Cent-W/-Rotated-Die

My proprietary Rotated Die Detector:

1816-Coronet-Large-Cent-W/-Rotated-Die
1816-Coronet-Large-Cent-W/-Rotated-Die

Approximate rotation result (detector still needs some tweaking):

1816-Coronet-Large-Cent-W/-Rotated-Die

I'll say somewhere between 70-75° CW.

Thanks for looking!

Oh, I almost forgot. Any thoughts on Newcomb variety (if possible) are certainly welcome!

It has been cleaned, soap and water it looks like recently. (see the missed crud in and around the date and letters on reverse.) Don't think there's any specific varieties for this year, (closed dates, repunch) now have no Idea about rotated reverses other than it may indicate a variety...There's enough details left for a G4 or G6 maybe, better than AG3.

I'd have to say G-04 details.

Thanks for the comments!

@Conder101

I assume "R-1" means Rarity-1, as in common which N-2 is (apparently the most common)?

R-1 is the most common.

I agree with Good-4. The cleaning looks pretty benign and shouldn't warrant a Details grade at this level of wear.
