As an amateur, I'm trying to get better at my coins. Here is a 1951 P Lincoln Wheat cent. On the reverse right Wheat ear, I would say that it is a die strike with the metal flowing out. On the obverse, I am not sure if there's PMD under the "U" in trust with a slight piece of metal attached. The other letters do not have that. The "I" in, "IN" seems to be shorter. And in the year, the "1" Seems to be different as well. Any thoughts from the professionals?

to CCF.

The reverse looks like something stuck it, going towards the rim. Because it is incused, I would think PMD.
The 'U' could be a die chip but the photo is too small to really tell.

I agree it looks like a hit, and metal has been displaced.

to the community, keep the search on!

It's pretty clear there is damage at the wheat ear. For your other questions, clear close-up pictures of the areas in question would be helpful.
Rest in Peace

Thank you everyone! PMD was my first thought a couple weeks ago. I appreciate everyone's expertise. I'll keep looking and studying.

Added your image with a struck through wire image to show the difference from PSD VS struck through error.

Thank you for your image. I saw the potential for the presentation and my coin was one I've had for several years and never put the two ideas together.

Very nice Coop, good stuff to know. You have taught many people a lot about numismatics. I for one, thank you very much.
