I can't say why, but when I first saw it something just said to me "BAD". It just doesn't look right.

Interesting. I agree we need better pics to give a definite opinion. The 9 and 2 in the date is what gives me pause but I just can't tell with the pics provided. The rest of the coin looks about right.

The coin looks choice UNC or about ms64 but the pictures show some extensive hairlining which would drop it to UNC details. From the pictures it looks more likely to be an UNC details cleaned coin imho.

The pics are better but somewhat bright and may give the impression of cleaning. It's hard to tell if the hairlines are from brushing but the way they go in a circular manner seems to say yes. Can't be sure from the pics, but there seems to be wear on the emblem of the shield and her right leg. Seems real enough, although a closeup of the S mm would be helpful.

That is a fabulous coin if genuine. Congratulations. I don't see anything glaring that would indicate an alteration.

There is a small die chip clinging to Liberty's right leg (viewer's perspective) which confirms it's genuine. It's considered a "teardrop" die break. Die chips and breaks are rare on Standing Liberty quarters but don't have much premium. Some people like me collect them though. Neat.

Genuine, nice coin but probably cleaned. Might grade and might not. Lots of die polish.

Except for error coins this is the second most expensive LSQ. I think they are right behind the 1916. I know the 27-S has the lowest mintage besides the 1916, but those 27-S coins have the protected date, whereas the 23-S is scarce in MS condition because the dates wore off in a couple of years. Is this coin considered FH? I know that individual SLQ's have better or worse strikes. One coin can have a FH and another will never seem to be FH depending on the date. FH coins sell for a premium. I lack only the 1916 and don't have $9000 to get a good one.
