The 2 in the date looks malformed. Sharper photos would be helpful....

Date looks all wrong. May be a genuine coin where the date was altered (e.g. from 1926-1929), or the date was shaved off then had the edge drilled and metal pushed up. In addition, the area where the date is located seems to be the 1925 and later type, but it's hard to tell from these tiny photos.

It looks to be full head MS65 type 23-S. If it is real it is an expensive coin. How much does it cost? This would be key to me. Nobody is going to sell that coin for less than about $7000.

I blew up these pics with my software but couldn't do much for the clarity. The 2 does look fishy but this coin doesn't come in any other date that ends in 3 so it would seem an altered date would pick on the last digit.
