fyi - I am hoping that a verdicare bath will remove the green spots without a lot of underlying corrosion

It looks genuine to me and about VF-30, maybe a bit higher.

It's also a nice woody!

I agree that it looks like an excellent candidate for Verdi-Care.

I hate to say it, because I don't know what you paid, but this is a low value piece. It makes VF and I'd be around VF25 with problems. Some of the verdigris looks like there will be corrosion underneath if it's completely removed.

It's authentic and around $50 is the most you should have paid.

P.S. I just looked it up on ebay and you probably did okay at that price.

Verdi-care will likely resolve the corrosion but leave inconsistent coloring underneath the spots. All in, given the zombie woodie effect, it's just not a very appealing coin.

VF30 but like stated this coin is not free from defects and most likely would receive a details designation
