Rolling lines that transferred these to the coin. When the coin is in BU condition they are not seen. But as the coin ages in circulation, they appear. They see to wear off on the tops of the highest devices. We see these a lot on the copper and silver planchets. Now we can see them on the Nickels as well. Some like them, but they are out there.

I prefer the woody cents a lot more. The rolling lines examples seem to be kind of common.
