I have a 1996 100 dollar bill that the back picture is printed upside down. I took it to a local store and they put it through there counterfeit machine and it came back real. Anyone know anything about these? I will upload a picture.

Nice find. Errors like this I feel get out more often then the upside down serial numbers because you have to look at both sides to figure it out. I don't know how common this is, but I haven't ever seen one like it. Just out of curiosity, which way is the watermark of Franklin facing? Does it go with the front or the back of the bill?

I am sure the error specialists will chime in soon. In the mean time, don't spend it. :)

I checked the bill but did not see the watermark and the strip looks like it's on the wrong side. Which is weird because it went through the machine and came back real.

Terrible photos.

With that being said, the security thread is on the wrong side and the portrait looks counterfeit. I would have to examine it in hand or have better photos.

Something is throwing me.

The only 2 denoms not to have a watermark are the 1 and 2. But neither of those have a security strip.

Check the security strip it should say USA and then have the denom.

Like USA 100 for a real 100.

There is no indication that there was ever a watermark.

Can you possibly take photos of each side without the light shining through? just one of each side?
