1930s Buffalo Bill Lucky Penny I hesitated on this one, as it was a little bit more than I wanted to pay but haggled and got a nice discount. I thought it was worthy of a page 100 post. Looking around I have not found another ~ yet, and this is in very nice condition. I found this webpage interesting, I see a "Lucky Nickel" in the collection that appears to be of similar design in there as well as a collection of those Leavenworth Cody Days medals I recently posted about when I finally got that 1973 medal. http://www.buffalobillcollection.or...cwood-rounds. ( NOT MY SITE )If you look around in there, in Artifacts tab, it looks like there are an awful lot of Buffalo Bill collectibles to be found and some to be discovered. I think I just may have gotten "LUCKY" with this one! I have not found another . yet, and this is in very nice condition.  This big honkin 3 inch "Lucky Penny" will join my Buffalo Bill collection and Lucky Nickels and Lucky Pennies with a smile.  Clickable for larger image

Longines Symphonette Sterling 39mm Washington's Farewell To His Officer This is one of sixty medals in their Great American Triumphs Series, released I believe in 1971-if someone knows for sure please let us know. I really like the high relief on these medals.   Edited by thisistheshow

How about a 99 cent medal for a page 100 post? Yes, really, I won this beauty for 99 cents. I haven't done full research on it yet, so anyone who can help, please do so. It appears to commemorate a school visit or "patriotic excursion" to San Lorenzo, site of Gen. Jose de San Martín's famous victory in the Battle of San Lorenzo during the Argentine War for Independence early in February 1813. 1895 (dated 26 May) Argentine Patriotic Excursion Medal Copper, 22.7 grams, 37mm, thick plain edge Red-brown, very lustrous AU, especially the rev. Reference: Burzio 158 Obv: * Excursion patriotica escolar a San Lorenzo * 26 de Mayo de 1895 / Uniformed bust of Jose de San Martín facing right, "ORZALI B. Y. C." (i.e. Ignacio Orzali, Jose Bellagamba & Constante Rossi) beneath the right shoulder. Rev: (left) Gobierno de Dn. paralyse, I looked around and found very little. You have more info than I could find already posted. Most everything I found was in a foreign language and I gave up. Sorry. Nice one tho. Looks unc!  thisistheshow, those Longines Symphonette and Danbury medals are hefty. Some are sterling and some are .999. I have a few, there are many. Try to get them at melt. A few always fetch a premium. The one you got there looks to be in excellent condition.

Encountered a seller who was getting rid of some British and Irish Conder tokens to focus exclusively on Scottish issues. Struck up a nice conversation with him. Sure, twist my arm... picked up 7 so far, an 8th on the way. The seller's collection is certainly "of an age" -- and they're ALL in their original envelopes! Ya'll know I like the "Old West" stuff and a 1971 Santa Fe Trail National Commemorative Society medal is coming my way.
