I thought this was weird enough to grab and keep with my 1898 Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition
Lagoon Medal I posted on 12/30/2019 here:
http://goccf.com/t/301479&whichpage=169#3124038

This is the correct bezel for this medal and it seems to match in wear as well. It would have a Red, White & Blue ribbon.

An image I had found and saved almost a year ago shows another here.

Collecting medals/awards that have the ribbon (military style) is a whole subset in and of itself that is very broad and interesting. Very nice add TNG.

I've often gone quite loopy! There was a time where I wouldn't buy a looped or holed medal for a nickel. Historical value has changed my mind.

The holder not the medal . . .

Got this pretty neat Capital Plastics holder that I haven't seen before to house one of my duplicate 1960 Silver Pony Express Centennial so-called dollars.

A 1954 Topps Scoop card I picked up to go with my medals.
I have this thing about matching up postcards, tickets and non-sports bubble gum cards when I can. That's a whole other pile by itself.

@TNG: Great Pony Express material! It's an area of interest for me as well, so I always enjoy seeing what others collect!

I'll try to get images of some of the PE medals in my collection and post them.

In the meantime, here's a link to a post I made over on the Stamp Forum about Pony Express covers that might be of interest.

@mikey50: Nice Eisenhower inaugural medal. Thanks for sharing!

I've long believed that Hancock's portrait of Eisenhower on this medal was more flattering than Gasparro's on the dollar coin. (Sorry jbuck! )

I'm a bit concerned about 999fine. Haven't heard from him in quite sometime. Wrote but got no answer.
