have no idea what you are asking us to look for, you need to be specific in your title as to the coin involved, and the question you want answered..

I don't believe it's a DDO! I think it's MD.

Find that interesting. A week ago Mrzllewellyn had a 2017P that had that LIBERTY image when pixed that way. I inspected the coin in hand, under a 10x loupe was absolutely normal, under scope w/ ring LEDs and remote LEDs could get those images. I determined what Coop had said was a fluke of light. Then I noticed others here referencing a 2017P-RPM-001 looking just like that. Sooooo, I don't know. under normal circumstances(lighting & Mag) not a doubling effect seen, under 100x+ and side/direct LED lighting see separations. BUT, and I must stipulate this now, the overall SIZE of the details remains normal sized even with the R of LIBERTY, one could say there's a split(horizontal), but is there any vertical movement of the split halves? Not seeing it. Still in camp of lighting/shadows trickery and not doubling. It may be nothing more than the "squeeze-pop Phenomenon"...don't ask me to explain that, tired of writing...

I'd say wacky shadows and lights, but several areas show such a mixed distinction it's really tough to be certain.

Where are you Coop?

Little itty bitty mirrors and smoke. Don't forget the smoke. No really it can be darn hard sometimes when you have been looking at something for hours to not see the shadows as doubling. I use a 25W tensor lamp flanked by two 40W white incandescent lamps. By blocking 1 or 2 of the lamps the details really explode and you are less prone to being tricked by those pesky mirrors. And smoke. Can't forget the smoke. And I look at my coins with either my eye, a 5X glass or a 15X / 45X binocular microscope. Keep looking you'll find nice stuff
One more thing, I just finished looking at 2500 2017 P&D coins. I don't see doubling. I see what I saw about 400 to 500 times in those coins and that's softness in the minor lettering. If I used a single light source and 15x scope I guaranty you I'd see doubling in any bright copper coin.
Last thing, don't over magnify really bad habit to get into. Look at the coin naturally that is with analog optics. Eye ball, 5X handheld glass, 10X loupe, nonelectrionic microscope. You will never really SEE a coin through a computer. You can't get one graded and slabbed through the computer. These pictures are nice but are inconclusive. If it was a DD we would all know it.

With all the glare, the devices look like normal size. So Too much light and a normal coin.

Thanks for your honesty everyone. When I look at these images for awhile I can begin to see that I am looking at the top, the side and the bottom edge of the letter or number at the same time. In the real world, I think my brain puts those aspects together for one image but in this medium they are so defined my brain has no choice but to keep them separate and the new perception can be startling. Does that make sense? In any case, I can stop imagining that I have found the penny of a lifetime every 30 seconds and give my heart a rest. One foot in front of the other.
