Try a 14% grayscale background. Pics look a bit dull. Your light source looks like it is making hot spots.May be a bit out of focus. Wait for a pro or two though.

They do look pretty good but only you can tell if they have the same look as the coin.

Also when you take the pic try to get the coin so it is at 12 and 6 oclock a few of your pics are off .

I agree with John1 the shots look out of focus. Did you use Auto focus? What F stop were you using... (it may have been too slow)

Nice photos, good job. Do check your camera mounting, I get the impression from the 1907 Cent photo that the lens is not perfectly in plane, perpendicular, to the coin, the left edge seems a bit unfocused.

If you're using Autofocus, stop doing that and focus manually. Do orient the coin precisely, just put a pencil mark on your background using your lens and align the coin to it.

Looking good and will improve with practice and the feedback you will receive here. Please share- what setup are you using?

Thanks everyone!

The set up is a macro light ring and a Sony cybershot. Sadly I have to use autofocus but I have bad cataracts that basically make my ability to focus manually impossible. It also make color balance difficult so I include a true white piece of paper in the photo to white balance off of.

I believe I have corrected the angle issue so have a look at these photos and see if they appear better.

Thanks again,
Blair

Long ago, I tried a macro light ring, but didnt like the results. You might try blocking off parts of the ring and see if the results are better.

Some Cybershot models have focus peaking. This is a form of manual focus assist which can help wth manual focus... it wourls by highlighting the areas of highest contrast( and assumed best focus) using either Red or yellow accents on the cameras screen. It is often better than auto focus and might be of assistance with your impaired vision
