My first thought was damage, VVs listing for 001 shows aS/S/S, there is a mark above AND below the upper curve, yours don't have it. Still checking...

Never mind...Stage C,or at least a B with the scratches. Just surprised that the under curve mark was polished away so quickly in stages?

Looks close. But the damage to this coin makes me question a little bit, but looks like it could be what we are looking for:

The problem with that is this; I don't have anything to compare it with. It looks to be the real deal, but other than the variety vista images, I've not found other ones to compare it with. The problem with creating the image above, was that the images were not exactly straight on shots. Shots taken at an angle, will adjust the location of the mint mark, adjust the height of the devices. So if both sets are taken at a slight tilt, then you have to adjust to see if they are close. But I think I found the correct setting for the images. What I would like to find is more images of this dies other examples to see if we can find a corresponding set of die scratches. (one of the issues that I've not found for a match to you coin. So I'm still looking. So straight on images keep the devices more correct. But I do appreciate the offer.

Well now I feel real stupid! I was looking for die scratches to match up with your coin. Now I realize I was missing the biggest die scratches that match your coin. Ready for it? The die scratches/die reduction on the eye. I just checked coppercoins, and there it kicked me in the head! LOL Your coin is definitely is that die number. I can't believe I missed that....
