Thank you! Ok well I have been trying to learn the difference between clad and silver dimes to see if I can tell any difference. I have a couple silver dimes in the 60's to compare it with but where it is mint and toning it is very hard to decide what it is or isn't. Plus it's in a PCGS case....

I completely understand not wanting to break it out because you're right, it will instantly lose that grade designation. It looks like you may have used a paper towel for the " tissue test" pic. It needs to be a single ply facial tissue (thin) and you need something to compare it to. Here are a couple pics I took comparing silver (left) and clad (right) proof State Quarters:

These are, obviously, taken through the proof set lenses so, I don't think your coin being in a slab would affect the results.

Judging by the looks of my pic compared to yours, you probably have a clad coin as it should be. The edge of yours may just be too difficult to see.
