I found this coin this morning while walking my dog in a field next to the Trailer park where I live. The reason I say it's a strange find is because I live in the Napa Valley, Wine Country. The majority of the population is Hispanic and are vineyard workers. about %98 of the residents in my trailer park are Hispanic. It just surprised me to find a coin from Ireland here. The only people that are ever in this field are those that live in the park as it is part of the property. I guess it would be possible for someone here to have visited Ireland, but highly unlikely in my opinion.
Anyway, in Ireland this is a common coin.

Years- 2002-2017
Value- 5 Euro Cent=0.05 Euro. 0.06 USD
Metal- copper plated steel
Weight- 3.92g
Diameter- 21.25mm
Thickness- 1.67mm

Obverse
The Celtic harp, a traditional symbol of Ireland is accompanied by the inscription "eire" (the first e has a little horizontal bar above it for pronunciation. couldn't figure out how to get it there.) which is the Irish word for Ireland and is encircled with the twelve stars of Europe. Also has the year 2002.

Reverse
A globe next to the facial value (5 Euro Cents) that shows Europe in relation to Africa and Asia. Also is the engravers initials LL, Luc Luycx.

Thank you for looking.

Somebody could have got it in change then thought it was something like a arcade token and tossed it. I pick up Lincoln cents all the time when I go to the gas station - for some reason some people just throw the cents they get in change on the ground.

That certainly is a possibility Mark, one that I didn't think of. I find change in this field almost every day but it's almost always where a vehicle is parked. like right where the drivers door is telling me that while pulling their keys out of their pocket some change came out as well and hit the ground which they usually don't bother to bend over and pick up.
When I still had my Harley I would pull into the drive through. when I reached the window to pay for my order I always looked down. You would be surprised at how much change is dropped when their handing back change. It never failed as I always picked up a hand full. Most I ever picked up was a little over 3 bucks!

Around drive through windows too but I'm not gonna go picking that up in front of everybody - bad enough I feel like a bum checking out the Coin Star machine in the grocery store -
