I almost 100 % sure this is one and seems to be in pretty good shape! I would like your confirmation on this and your thoughts as to the grade. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Congrats. you nailed it
Excellent find. It is the wounded Eagle variety and to this date there is a dispute if it is a Die gouge or else. Definitely a 2x2 worthy and does carry a premium.

It displays sharp details and I do see finger prints on both Revs. and Obvs. AU-55

I would say no, I have tried to remove finger prints off coins before but no luck! yours seem minor if they are yours and fairly recent they MIGHT come off by wiping it with a damp cotton cloth otherwise may be another member might have a suggestion as I am not sure how Pure Acetone will react with cladding of manganese brass, I have not tried it on golden dollars.

I do appreciate it Chase, I do have some other coins I can do some testing on. I think it would be worth the effort. If I can go from 55 to 58 is a major plus to me!

I feel that this particular error has a huge potential to increase in market demand over the years.

In the meantime, just keep it quietly tucked away, and allow it to mature like a good wine.
