Great photos @jbuck--thanks for cross posting. One thing that I would point out is that assumining you are now using your phone to take pics of the numismatic displays, it is almost zero extra work to also take a pic of the museum's descriptions. I have started doing this and it makes attributing the objects in the pics a whole lot easier.

That is something I will try to do the next time, assuming I have more time. I spent most of the time looking and reading for myself, the photos were almost an afterthought.

What a great thread!

I visited (or tried to visit) the New Orleans Mint museum about 5-6 years ago while on holiday in New Orleans. It was closed at the time for renovation, unfortunately. I'll have to try again soon.

If not already mentioned, there's a nice museum in the Philadelphia Mint, which is part of the tour.
