Could someone help me to determine which gold/silver japan coin is that?

Itīs said that itīs a 1837 japan gold/silver coin 1 BU...but I didnīt find anything related. Would like to know written references if existing too.

Also is it possible to determine if it was cleaned or damaged in any way? Itīs visible that it has some cracks and spots but I donīt know if this affect the overall appeal.

Thanks owatchman, but if you look closely itīs not the same coin I showed in the photos. The gold coin at my photos was "considered" an 1837 Japan gold/silver coin, but the images are not the same as those presented in numista.

@pirgah

I can't help much but, your images are upside down. Yours doesn't look to have the Ansei era character but, something else (I can't tell).

It also appears to have chop marks.

Yes, maybe youīre right. But I tried to invert the images and compare with other japan coins like 2 BU, but it didnīt match. Iīm trying to find some person that collects only japanese coins. Thank you anyway. Itīll be a very difficult task.

Hartill's Early Japanese Coins is just about the only authoritative reference on Tokugawa coins that isn't written in Japanese. It's still in print and widely available for about $20.

I'll have to do a more thorough flip-through, but I couldn't find anything quite like yours in there. The obverse (upside down) has the character "bun" which would put it at late 1700s or very early 1800s (Gembun era), which would also be over 50% gold.

Your coin is visibly debased, which did not happen until the 1830s. The design is also off-center and the features are very indistinct. I am fairly certain this is not an official coin, although whether contemporary or modern forgery I can't tell.
