Quote: You can still use a Submarine to go under the ice shelf. Maybe, maybe not. Remember, Antarctica is like an archipelago. There are many islands under that shelf than can get in the way of a straight line. Quote: Maybe this view will help better... Yeah, I could have lined it up better. For what it is worth, I use the "Measure distance" tool in Google Maps to draw the straight line between destinations.

Quote: Quote: 2. If the last country has a coastal border you may cross the water as long as it is a straight line on the globe without passing through another country. Quote: You cannot do that! The earth is not FLAT
All overseas trips must pass along a great circle. A great circle is the circular intersection of a sphere and a plane passing through the sphere's center point. i.e The shortest distance between 2 points on a sphere. Suddenly I am more interested in geography than coins. I intend to compile a list of all legal moves. Hang on, ANTARCTICA IS NOT A COUNTRYIs it possible to reword the rules to "as long as it is a straight line on the globe without passing through another land mass"? Otherwise Uruguay to Australia is a legal move.

Playing Madagascar to Easter Island would be cool. You would pass through the Drake Passage on a great circle.
