Cracked this one out of an NGC holder for my type set. Started looking closer. Would this be a DDR or just Machine Doubling?

Oddly enough for you, there's insufficient magnification involved.

Look at the serifs - UNI and the tips of the T crossbars seem like the best place to look - for actual separation and definition. If you visualize MD as "smearing," you'll understand why it can't create split serifs.

There are three recorded DDR's for this issue, plus one which Heritage identified as an unattributed fourth:

I think yours is either FS-801 or another of those, from these pics.

IMO it's not a DDR.
I see it as " Strike Doubling".

This is true doubling, IMO, affecting the entire legend on the reverse. I think Dave is on the right track.
