A clear close-up of just the Liberty and one of just the date would be helpful.

What you se is a shadow, light tricks from Die Deterioration. Notice the dark shadow left of all detail in direction of outer rim, normal metal flow. That what you see? If you had a counter-source light from the left....

Thank you. Yes, it is a shadow, but the letters and numbers are the same. I'll attempt better pictures tomorrow in the natural light. I appreciate everyone's comments.

Here are a couple more pictures. They were taken in natural light 90° parallel to the plane. I am leaning more towards deterioration of the die on the date. As far as liberty, I am not sure if there's anything going on there.

I agree it's Die Deterioration. Play with your lighting, I use one light (not too bright), and often change the direction it hits a particular coin until it shows exactly what's on the coin. A Doubled Die differs from a lot of the worthless "doublings" in a few ways, not the least of which it is almost as tall as the normal devices. Check this one out.

Thank you CoinMasters! I use various lighting techniques and angles, along with researching. That is a nice Lincoln Cent above. It's getting much easier to distinguish between all the various doublings that occur, including with the help of CCF members that have shown me their tutorials in learning. I have a long way to go to be a professional coin grader. Have a great day!
