Me and another couple hunted a county fair grounds this afternoon. Temps were in the mid 40's, and we had wind to 15 MPH. I started off slowly again, while they did well on pennies and a quarter quickly. My first penny was a 1918P, the back was nice clean while the front was black and difficult to read, had to do some cleaning to read the date. Had 3 quarters , 4 dimes and another 9 LMC. John and Evie had 4 quarters and some dimes and a lot of LMC. We hunted in the pecan grove, which contained the horse shoe pitching area and a tot lot with a lot of electrical out lets around the outer edge. For me the outer edge produced the most loot. There are 2 baseball fields I want to hunt around, the area that the carnival sets up in every year should produce coins. Living the dream, Webekin
Rest in Peace

You must be off in the weeds. Fairgrounds with that much loot are hard to find. Nice pick ups this late in the season.

Sounds like fun - we are frozen over probably for quite awhile according to the future weather forcasts. Time I put away the metal detector and start dusting off the ice fishing equipment!

That's awesome, hearing good stories like yours and after reading other posts, I wish I had a metal detector
