Hi!
Is it common for a 2011 D Quarter (Olympic) with all nickel perferated edge? The perferated edge is all covered with nickel and there is no copper shown at all.
Thanks!

Most likely what you have is a silver or platinum plated quarter. The TV coin people are really big of selling sets of plated quarters and they make them by the tens of thousands. When the suckers that buy them later try to sell them they learn that they are only worth face value and many of them just get dumped into circulation.

Oh, I see! Interesting... Good to know because I did find this one in circulation by coin roll hunting. It's hard to tell what kind of plating was used. I will attach a photo when I get a chance.
Thanks for the guidance!

Flatter duller grayish? Platinum mint issues, when did they stop? Used to have a P & D mint set with Gold and Platinum sets earlier, issued by US Mutt but not sure if or when that stopped. If the color is quite shiny white it could be silver or some experiment with nickel, is such, check out YouTube to learn how to electroplate your own...so you too can fool others!

I think if it was plated the edge would be plated too.

Are the obv and rev actually that dull, or is it a result of the lighting/photography?

Obv and rev is result of lighting, the coin is actually very shiny.

Ok then the coin is most likely plated. With what? You could get it checked at some jewelers, but it's expensive. Plating doesn't increase the value.
