Hi everyone I am new to the forum. Basically, I have come across what seems to be a 1873 Trade dollar. I have seen a lot of reports that these are actually Chinese fakes and I think this is one of them. But your opinions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks Rough Details (did these in a hurry) Diameter : 37/38mm Weight : 25/26 grams (I don't have a decent scale) Thickness : 3mm Not Magnetic Thanks in advance

Course its fake, never issued! Chinese weren't very smart on doing this one, although sure has fooled a lot of folks!

The design is the #2 pattern coin that was created for the selection of the Trade dollar. As noted the Chinese have issued a lot of counterfeits for this pattern coin. The pattern coins did not circulate and your coin is showing wear that most likely makes your coin a fake. You can compare it to graded example and you should be able to see the difference.

to the Community! I agree, not genuine. The design is completely wrong on both sides.

It's an ugly fake similar to a rare pattern.
