Another one from my upcoming sale, but nice enough I had to share it! M ANTONINVS AVG, bare head right CONCORD AVG TR P XVI, COS III in exergue, Concordia seated left, holding patera, resting left elbow on statuette of Spes set on base. RIC 33  Concordia was a recurring theme in the early coins of Aurelius and Verus, as Verus had proven himself a less capable administrator, acting in his own self interest and surrounding himself with worldly pleasures. There was considerable call for Verus to step down and allow Aurelius to rule by himself, but Aurelius wished to honor Antoninus Pius' plan for a joint rule. Marcus Aurelius held the title TR P XVI from December 10 161 until December 9 162.
