I need your opinions for which Year is the best for Doubled Dies because I want to buy a OBW roll on ebay to coin roll hunt. What year do you think is known for a lot of Doubled Dies? Any opinions would be gladly appreciated.

that's a tough one E&V. IMHO, 55' is probably the most sought after, then there's the 69s, the 72. And a whole lot more. But those three decades is what I like to search.
I'm sure the experts will provide a more informative opinion.
Oh, be carful on them ebay OBW! As I'm sure you know they all claim that the rolls they are selling are unsearched.

Thank you for your opinion on the years to look for Doubled Dies. I will be very careful on getting OBW rolls as I see plenty of fake ones on ebay. The last roll I bought on ebay were from 1960 D and they were Large Dates. They were truly OBW since I found 35 RPM'S or more from all three rolls. The rolls came from D.E. Community Bank. One way to find out if the seller is selling searched rolls is to look at the return policy and if it says no returns, then it's most likely too good to be true.

David each of the years will have their own group to look for, it really is hard to pinpoint. The major ones have all been pretty picked over, at some point in time. Those Tootall mentioned. Personally, I'm hunting for 71P-DDO, 64P-DDR(2), 83P&D-DDR, 84P&88P-DDO(ear) and the 95P&D-DDOs. There's all kinds of minors but it hurts my eyes too much on that fine detail and just can't see wasting the time of putting every coin under the scope. I'll study coppercoins before busting a dated roll just to get certain pickup points in mind, notch on this letter leg or NW direction, etc. Why I stick with mostly mintmarks!

Good point Crazyb0. I definitely agree to what you're saying about them being picked through mostly. It is hard to pinpoint because there's not really any specific ones really. Thank you for your opinion on this. :)

There are truly OBW rolls on ebay, but you have to look carefully. Although, I wouldn't recommend ebay for new collecters though because of all of the trickery going on with some of the sellers. Thank you everybody for giving your opinions about what years are the best.
