hello CCF family. I need help again on a 1984 penny. i cecked Lincoln cents resource but I'm still confused. haha! sorry I'm just a newby so I keep asking questions. anyway, here is what I have  how would you guys classify this? thank you Edited by KembotMo 12/15/2017 09:49 am

the bottom of the L on LIBERTY seems missing and there is a tail under the E.

im thinking that the tail under the E came from the L.. but thats just what I think. haha! so guys tell me what this is, thank you

The "tail" under the E is probably a plating bubble, the weak L is from the Die Deterioration that is causing the ridge inside the rim from Lincolns shoulder around up through GOD.

Technically it may be an error, but a worthless one. The mint began the copper plated zinc coins mid 1982. New process for them. Many of the coins have this issue. Some you will see tiny raised bumps all over the coin or maybe just one side. Other coins you will see large raised bubbles that tend to run in streaks. It was an issue the mint had particularly early on but will still see on newer cents. No premium added unless you find one in the shape of say President Trump or some other recognizable individual.
