That one is a bit harsh. I think the stamp is too big for the coin.

That my dear sirs is NOT a counterstamp! Just a metal stamp. Ones used to make the tin plate ID parts markers. Used to see those on '57 Fairlane radiators and body parts. If you call that counter stamped then a coin whacked by a socket and hammer would be the same, tooled alteration.

I'll start using a 1/4" x 13/64" socket and call it the "Obama" counter stamp...fair game? I see a failed marketplace tho...

Ah, I see. As I said, I thought it was too big for the coin.

LOL! 100% agreed. I had thought it was a speed-not-quality way to stamp a bunch of cents for advertising purposes but what you posted makes a whole lot of sense.
