We've seen some really interesting Lincoln C/s of late. I'm hoping someone is building a collection of these weird little fellows.

Hey moxking... I think I'm kind of a black sheep of coin collecting. I've been putting together a collection of counterstamped Lincoln Cents for a few years. They're fun and sometimes odd. I'm looking forward to sharing from my collection here on the forum over the coming years. Is there anyplace here on the ccf that I can post that I'm interested in purchasing counterstamps from other members?

When you reach enough quality posts, you can participate in the buy-sell-trade section.

Until then, just post, share knowledge, ask/answer questions - you'll reach the magic number quickly. And by then you'll know the other counterstamp collectors.

I assume these are done by companies or individuals? I recall seeing penny stamp machines when I was a kid, are these from those or companies?

I've always been of the belief that the Lincoln counterstamps are solely done with a small hand stamp punch and a hammer. I've made some myself and discovered that this requires a bit of technique to wind up with a nicely done specimen.
