I'm looking to purchase a coin of Tiridates 111 of Armenia. He was the king that declared Armenia a Christian nation. I can't seem to find any and I"m wondering if he didn't make any coins. I've seen a bunch of coins from Armenia, Artaxiad Dynasty. Tigranes II "The Great," 95-56 BC. but none from Tiridates 111 of the Arsacid dynasty

Let me know any links selling this or any information.
Thanks for your time
Rest in Peace

Thanks..it seems that the parthia article has a differing Tiridates 111. According to wikipedia and other sources Tiridates 111 reigned from 250-330. The Parthia article suggests he reigned from 224-228. Maybe I'm missing something.

Period of history I know nothing about. Suggest you PM BobL and check out his downloadable PDF(same area as in my signature) on Parthinians, his arena I think.

Oh, just noticed, you need 50 posts to PM, I'll send him a link to this, he may be busy, he's a teach...

Thanks for the PM, Butch. Yeah, been busy...semester is over, but the house is filling up with guests for the holidays.

Sellwood seems to have been uncertain if they (Tiridates III of Parthia and Tiridates III of Armenia) were one and the same fellow. Obviously they were related...both Arsacids. The reign dates suggest they were not the same person.

Perhaps more to the point: The definitive answer to the question may be the second footnote at the bottom of the Tiridates I of Armenia Wiki page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tirid...I_of_Armenia

Quoting: "The Arsacid kings of Armenia did not mint coins..."

I defer to Bob, I've seen coins of Tiridates II, but don't recall any of Tiridates III
