These C/s have been popping out of the woodwork of late. I do hope someone is keeping a photo record of them.

I've always wondered why people choose the Cent for all those counterstamps.

Cost of materials. You could produce a lot more of them for the same amount of money. Twenty five cents would get you one piece if you were doing quarters, but it would get you 25 pieces using cents.

The field in front of lc Lincoln offers the most space for a flat-face punch. They don't make good impressions otherwise.

Might also have something to do with the cent being softer and more willing to take a stamp.
