Came Across Some Disney Coins At A Pawn Shop I Buy From

MikeF Pillar of the Community United States 3479 Posts	Posted 12/20/2017 4:53 pm So came across some Disney coins from a pawn shop that I regularly buy coins from. Then found several threads on CCF about counterfeit ones. My guy is asking $20 a piece for them. How can I tell if they are fake? Report this Post to the Staff

They would have come in a large purple case for all of the coins. 75th Anniversary of Mickey Mouse. The pamphlet with the coins refers to "75 Years with MICKEY Silver Proof Medallions. He did have a purple box (though I didn't examine it) and said it was originally a set of six but 2 were missing. In hand the weight felt right. I'll head back up there tomorrow with a magnet and a scale. These would make great Christmas gifts and $20 a coin is a good deal. I've found the complete set selling for $300 on ebay and individual coins for $60-$70. The other thing I noticed is there aren't very many of them for sale. Must be a low production issue.
