Please Help Me Identifying This Strange Coin/Token

Ellistewm New Member Netherlands 1 Posts	Posted 12/21/2017 10:01 am Hi all, My father found this coin. I tried doing some research, but so far my coin is a bit unique. Most coins looking like this only have one side and say 'Republique Francaise'. My coin however has two identical sides and says 'Republique Francalse' with the L. The date says 1808. So now I am wondering. Is this coin one of a kind, or is it a simple jewelry token? Thank you. Report this Post to the Staff

It has the look of some cheap modern tokens I've seen, and the date makes no sense with the legend, as France was formally the French Empire under Napoleon in 1808. Report this Post to the Staff
