That's a nice AU53 coin, still has some original luster. That's what fool's ya at times. A coin can have a lot of the luster, cartwheeling left but if it has too many contacts on the surfaces. See those fine scratches above the Memorial, on it and in the areas (fields) around? All those are what knocks the cumulative grade down. Then you take the obverse and the heavy hits on the rim, this shows circulation, been floating around for a while. Those little nicks and scratches are what is called "chatter", like noise pixels in a photo, is a distraction. Just remember, most coins in circulation will most often be AU's and not MS grades, just because it is so easy to have nicks and coin contact damages.

There is enough field luster disturbance to indicate circulated.

AU-55.

But unless this date is at least 66 Red or better, it won't be worth more than one cent for a very long time to come.
