A reference to "Opus T. Penguin," a comic strip character.

I started reading this thread in 2017 and just finished so sorry for the late reply These bring back memories as I remember buying a few like the Lincoln smoking a cigar and john kennedy that were in the old novelty catalogs like things you never knew existed and came with some cards like you showed. I especially enjoyed the NASA/space ones since my step father was a nasa manager for many years. I like the ones that are tied to events or have documentation/papers with them rather than just someone stamping some design on the coin which leads to low scarcity and value for many, but still interesting to collect the many different finds even in those cases as you did since so many as you have shown are out there.

Thanks datadragon. I also really like the ones that are more than just the counter stamp. Glad you enjoyed the thread.

That's a cool design. I have never seen a heart symbol like that anywhere before.

1909 LWC that was engraved "1947 Skokie,Illinois". That's a close northern suburb of Chicago. As far as knowing the history of the coins we own I know that one day in 1947, someone in Skokie was bored, had an engraver and marked this 1909 LWC.

These are really cool. I have never seen this. Something else to collect of the great LC.

I guess I am just too much of a Navy Sailor, because all I could see of the "hand holding" was a young lady bent over with a heart shaped rear end.....
